LINKCOO has recalled about 16,300 of its blackout roller window shades, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Thursday, Mar. 27. The Amazon-exclusive product poses a strangulation and entanglement risk that could seriously injure or kill children.
The recalled shades come in white, gray, and black, ranging from 10 to 75 inches wide and 79 inches high. "LINKCOO" is printed on the label sticker attached to the lower pole.
The shades, which violate federal safety standards for window coverings and labeling, were sold between December 2022 and September 2024. Prices ranged from $20 to $88 and the shades were manufactured in China.
While the CPSC said no incidents or injuries have been reported, the agency warns that the long operating cords present a serious risk to children. Consumers are urged to stop using the shades immediately and cut the cord to eliminate the hazard.
LINKCOO is offering a free repair that includes a replacement short operating cord and installation instructions. To receive the replacement, you must email a photo of the shades with the operating cord cut to recalllinkcoo@163.com.
Once the photo is received, LINKCOO will send the replacement cord. Amazon is contacting all known buyers directly to inform them of the recall and provide instructions on how to get the free repair.
